My dad is turning 80 this year and he still gets up early on Saturday mornings to wash all our cars. He taught me that apart from style, the real mark of a gentleman is compassion. He is legitimately the classiest, coolest guy I know.

My father is a true southern gentlemen, veteran and police officer who has always been a beacon of moral character and honesty for me. He has just started learning the art of shaving and I would love to be able to give this to him this Fathers Day.

My Dad is the most important person in my life. Ever since i was little he was instilled morals in me that make me the man i am today. He taught me the things a Dad is supposed to teach his son. How to fish, How to change the oil in your car, how to tie a tie. Things that may seem little but they are also the things you’ll never forget. Recently he was diagnosed with cancer. 1 Year ago we all knew nothing of it. It’s all happened so fast. through his treatments i could see he was in more pain that i have ever seen him in and i couldn’t do anything about it, but he never once complained. Instead he kept a smile on his face, and continued to be the Dad i know him as. He really is the best Dad i could ask for. He’s sacrificed so much for me already and i know he would do anything for me. I love my Dad and i want him to have a Fathers Day he deserves.

My dad is the sole inspiring gentleman figure in my life. He grew up in a rough part of Detroit with little room for luxury, moved his life to the golden state of California with his soon to be wife because he wanted to start a better life. He’s forged through boardroom meetings and little money to accomplish great things for both himself and his family. He has taught me everything about being a gentleman; from how to treat others, to the ins and outs of being successful, how to present and maintain myself and everything in between. I could read a thousand novels on what it is to be a man, but all I have to do is spend five minutes with him to understand the true meaning.

I am so grateful for my husband, Josh. He has the “woman’s intuition” that I lack. I always joke that our son, Judah, would be dead if it weren’t for him. He can tell immediately when something is wrong when I think everything is status quo. Josh is also great because he helps around the house and cares for Judah without ever being asked. I know I can always count on him to make sure our lives run smoothly. Judah thinks he’s pretty great too.

My father is the consumate gentleman and has a timeless style about him. He has rocked a solid stache since 1970, plus he was the best damn little league coach money could buy.

My read dad is my father-in-law, who taught me how to use power tools, how plant a proper garden, and how to cook from scratch. In return, I’m teaching him the art of shaving and how to tie a tie.
